Discover our Creamy Beef Pasta recipe, a perfect blend of tender beef and pasta in a rich creamy sauce. An ideal choice for quick, nutritious meat pasta recipes.
Rich, creamy, and packed with flavour, this creamy beef pasta is the ultimate weeknight hero.
Juicy beef mince, tangy pesto, and silky cream cheese create a dreamy sauce that clings to every bite. It’s quick, hearty, and all made in one pot – because washing up is overrated.
Why This Creamy Beef Pasta Will Change Your Life (Probably)
Some meals are fancy. Some meals are healthy. And then there’s creamy beef pasta – a dish that just gets you.
It understands your need for something rich and satisfying but also quick and easy, because life is too short to be chained to the hob.
This creamy beef mince pasta is a game-changer. We’re talking properly browned beef (none of that sad, grey mince nonsense), a garlic-infused tomato sauce, and a lusciously creamy finish thanks to a dollop of low-fat cream cheese. It’s the kind of meal that makes you sigh with happiness after the first bite.
And the best part? It’s a one-pot creamy beef pasta, meaning fewer dishes to deal with and more time to enjoy your food. Whether you’re using regular pasta, shells, or even beef strips instead of mince, this is comfort food done right.
Ready? Let’s make magic happen.
What is Creamy Beef Pasta?
Creamy beef pasta is exactly what it sounds like – a glorious combination of tender beef, a rich, creamy tomato sauce, and pasta that soaks up all the goodness.
There are many variations of beef creamy pasta – some use beef strips, others go for mince. Some go all out with double cream, while others (like this one) use low-fat cream cheese for a lighter but still indulgent twist.
You can also mix things up with different pasta shapes – creamy beef pasta shells, for example, are excellent at trapping the sauce for maximum flavour in every bite. However you tweak it, the core idea remains the same: beef, pasta, and creaminess in perfect harmony.
Creamy Beef Pasta Main Ingredients
Beef Mince: Lean and protein-packed, beef mince is the star of the show. Opting for a 5% fat content strikes a balance between flavour and healthfulness.
Garlic: Garlic adds a pungent zing to the mix, a flavour so distinctive that it elevates the beef.
Mixed Herbs: A teaspoon of mixed herbs can conjure up a whole bouquet of flavours, infusing the beef with a garden-fresh aroma that's both comforting and tantalising.
Red Pesto: This concentrated dollop of sunshine brings a vibrant twist to the dish, imbuing it with a tomatoey goodness that's rich, tangy, and utterly irresistible.
Chopped Tomatoes: The backbone of any good sauce, chopped tomatoes simmer down to create a lush, velvety texture that lovingly clings to every strand of pasta.
Salt: Just half a teaspoon is enough to intensify all the other flavours.
Low-Fat Cream Cheese: The crowning glory of this dish, cream cheese adds a luxurious creaminess that's indulgent yet surprisingly light, creating a sauce that's both velvety and comforting.

Total Time:35 mins
Yield:41x
Ingredients
Scale
1 tbsp oil
1 onion, chopped
1 pepper, chopped
500g 5% beef mince
15g garlic, puree or very finely chopped
1 tsp mixed herbs
30g red pesto
400g chopped tomatoes
1/2 tsp salt
100 ml water
80g low fat cream cheese
Instructions
Heat some oil in a pan and cook the onion and pepper until they’re softened and smell amazing.
Add the mince and cook it until it’s beautifully browned and slightly crispy. Trust me, don’t rush this step – it’s where the magic happens.
Add the garlic and let it cook for about 30 seconds. Just long enough to make your whole kitchen smell incredible.
Stir in the mixed herbs, red pesto, chopped tomatoes, salt, and water. Let it simmer for 10 minutes to thicken up and let the flavours meld.
Just before serving, stir in the cream cheese until it melts into the sauce like a dream.
Toss with your favourite pasta, sprinkle with parmesan (if you’re feeling fancy), and dig in.

To Store
The dish keeps well in the fridge in an air-tight container.
To Reheat
Place the dish in the microwave, cover and zap until fully heated throughout.
To Freeze
In my opinion, it's never great to freeze cooked pasta. The sauce freezes fine, just cook the pasta when you're ready to eat it fresh.
Creamy Beef Pasta FAQs
Can I use beef strips instead of mince?
Absolutely! Just sear them quickly before adding them to the sauce. You’ll get creamy pasta with beef strips instead of mince – same delicious vibes.
What pasta works best?
Anything that grabs onto sauce – penne, rigatoni, or even creamy beef pasta shells (because sauce-filled pasta pockets are pure joy).
Can I make it spicier?
Yes! Add a pinch of chilli flakes or a spoonful of hot sauce for a little extra heat.
Is this kid-friendly?
Yes! Unless your kid has a deep, personal vendetta against delicious food.
How do I store leftovers?
Pop it in the fridge for up to 3 days. It actually tastes even better the next day. Reheat with a splash of water or milk to keep it creamy.
Can I freeze creamy beef pasta?
Yep! Just leave out the cream cheese until you’re reheating it. Otherwise, it might get a bit weird and grainy.
What can I serve with this?
Garlic bread (obviously), a simple salad, or if you’re feeling rebellious, just eat it straight from the pot. No judgement.
Can I make it dairy-free?
Swap the cream cheese for a dairy-free alternative or a splash of coconut milk for a different but still creamy twist.
