If you’ve been on our site before, you’ll know we’re big fans of simple, one-pot rice dishes. There is the Cajun Chicken Jambalaya, One-Pot Enchilada Rice, Chicken Biryani and now there this tasty pilau to add to the collection.

If you want to be super-authentic then have a rake in your cupboard for the whole spices like cinnamon sticks, cumin seeds, coriander seeds etc. These would be the ingredients of choice but they're a little specific and most people just have the ground versions. That's why we went for the latter, just to make it easier. Also if you have ghee in the house you could use it instead of butter too.

Either way, whole spices or ground, butter or ghee, it's still a winner of a dish!
