Easy healthy chilli con carne made in the slow cooker. 38g protein and full of flavour.

  • Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 smoked bacon medallions, cut into small cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 800 g lean steak mince
  • 400 g can of kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 400 g passata
  • 2 tbsp. tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp. chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Start with the bacon. Fry it up with the onion and celery until it's all sizzling and golden. Chuck in the garlic for a 30-second aroma bomb.

Brown the mince in the same pan, because flavour layers = happiness. Into the slow cooker it goes.

Add the rest of the ingredients, stir like you're in a chilli advert, and set the slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours.

When it's ready, grab a spoon and try not to inhale the entire pot in one go
