Tony Gentilcore is a strength and conditioning specialist based out of Boston in the US.

When he’s not picking things up and putting them down, he trains top-level athletes and writes for leading fitness publications like T-Nation, Livestrong, Greatist, Men`s Health and Women`s Health.

In this episode, Tony explains the fundamentals of how to create a successful training programme to get stronger. Beginners can pretty much do anything in the gym and get stronger, including, in Tony’s words – juggle oranges on bosu balls – but if you want to get the most out of your training there’s a few more elements to consider.

He’ll explain how often to mix up your exercises (which is probably much less often than you think), his thoughts on supersets, why he prefers the sumo deadlift to the harder ‘conventional’ deadlift, several ways to get stronger at pullups, top tips for building muscle and lots more. If you lift weights and don’t learn anything from this podcast then….well….we’d be very surprised.

Thanks for listening and the support – if you enjoyed this episode, I hope you can leave the podcast a rating and review on iTunes, and if you haven’t subscribed yet, this is the best time to do that too. This will help the show to get up in the rankings.
